#ThrowbackThursday – ETS Mobility Training
Did you know that the City of Edmonton offers individualized mobility device training? Now you do!
Wild Rose was able to attend one of these training sessions which now gives us the ability to keep our clients and our caregivers safer.
The journey up the ramp of a kneeling bus and around the corner to the wheelchair securement spots can be a very tight turn! One of these training sessions gives the client and the caregiver time to practice getting off and on the bus at their own pace.
ETS provides a free, customized travel training program for seniors, persons with disabilities and agencies or organizations that work with persons with mobility challenges. The Mobility Choices Travel Training Program was designed to provide information and instruction about our range of accessible features, services and programs and can include bus and LRT hands-on demonstrations (whenever possible), as well as website orientation, information on customer tools use and trip planning support. In some instances, companioned travel with an ETS Travel Trainer may also be available for a practice trip.
To give you an idea of what the training looks like, ETS has made a short video that you can watch.
We look forward to being able to share our new knowledge with all of you.
