Medication Lists
Since January is “National Alzheimer’s Month”, we would like to focus on our seniors in care.
When we have a loved one that is having some health issues, sometimes they will be visiting the hospital or walk in clinics. Each time we do this, there is the possibility of having some new medications prescribed. In some cases it can be difficult to keep up with them all.
We all know that there are interactions that might be harmful between different medications. How do we keep them all straight?
MyHealth.Alberta.ca has tools to help! Whether you like paper or an application for your smart phone, they have it all in one convenient link:
Printed versions include a wallet size so that you don’t leave home without it. If you are the person taking care of the family, you can use the app to create a separate profile for each person.
Another tip; if you use the same pharmacist all the time, it is easier for them to track drug interactions. The larger pharmacy chains usually have a network that has a built in tracking system.
