Rotary
Wild Rose Caregivers partners with Edmonton Rotary to provide services to local seniors and disabled clients. In the past, grants have been provided to allow those clients without means to purchase tea, coffee and snacks on their outings. The Rotary motto of “service above one’s self” is in alignment with Wild Rose Caregivers philosophy of commitment to our community. In addition to accessing the links and networking of the Rotary, Wild Rose Caregivers has worked with the Rotary to provide employment opportunities to clients of Inclusion Alberta (previously AACL).
Local Senior Groups and Associations
In 2011 Wild Rose Caregivers hosted a fundraiser for the benefit of SAGE Safe House. The Safe House provides temporary accommodations for men and women 60 or older who require a safe haven from an abusive situation. Our pub night and silent auction was a success. There was live music, snacks, art, and good company enjoyed with all proceeds donated to SAGE. Wild Rose Caregivers is also a member of the Edmonton Seniors Coordinating Council. Wild Rose Caregivers is a member of the Autism Society of Edmonton and works with the University of Alberta in related research.
Local Businesses
Wild Rose Caregivers is linked to many local home and health care businesses, who share the same commitment to the quality of life in this community. This connection allows innovative and flexible service delivery to our unique clients.
Local Sporting Groups and Associations
Wild Rose Caregivers has developed a unique relationship with local sporting groups and associations that provide access to events to clients that would not generally be able to attend. Through the willingness of our caregivers and the generosity of the organizations, access has been provided to events such as the Folk Fest, Fringe and Heritage Days.
Local Edmonton rugby clubs have been a unique source of caregivers that allow clients to access to the community and its events. Wild Rose Caregivers has developed a relationship with many post secondary hockey teams to allow clients to not only access events but also to be introduced to activities such as sledge hockey. Wild Rose Caregivers has discovered a unique commonality between student athletes and our disabled and senior clients, which has proved to be a mutually rewarding experience for both.
